  Dr Jakabovics is the best allergist I've ever been to. She can be a little difficult to understand because of her accent, but she cares, she listens intently, and doesn't stop until she's tracked down the issue (her nurse describes her as a -). She didn't hesitate to test me for a full allergy battery and even tested my antibiotic allergies - turns out I'm not actually allergic to penicillins. My main issue, though, is poison ivy, which I've gotten from incidental contact form my dog's incidental contact. I've even gotten it by brushing against the dead vines in winter. I highly recommend Dr Jakabovics.

  Dr. Jakabovics is a terrible and impersonal doctor. I went in with an eye rash and many other symptoms (pelvic pain, gastrointestinal issues, indigestion, hives on my legs, etc.). I had been on prednisone and my eyes looked way better than they had been. I showed her pictures and said I have to figure out what I'm eating that's causing this. She proceeded to say "it's your makeup." I almost burst out laughing because clearly I wasn't wearing any. Sorry for not being a typical girl? I said no. She then said it must be the lotion I put on my face, which I've never done I my entire life. I don't put anything on my face. I even use all natural shampoo. Then she said "it's poison ivy or poison sumac from your dog". I'm immune to poison ivy. When I was younger, I used to rub it all over myself and I never got anything from it. Also, my dog doesn't go into the woods or anything (not to mention it was October when this showed up). It's February now and it still shows up on and off. Definitely not poison ivy or sumac. She said, "trust me." Any Doctor that needs to say trust me is a Doctor you definitely don't want to go see. She basically told me that having any allergy tests done is pointless. I left the office after 10 minutes. Spent $40. What a complete misleading waste of my time. DO NOT GO HERE.

  I have been going to this office for almost 5 years for allergy shots. (I had allergy testing in this office and began going for monthly injections at age 57). Dr. Jakabovics and her staff have helped me to become virtually allergy free. Dr. J. is up front with what results to expect. Now I no longer need allergy medications!! Yay! The technicians who give the shots are friendly, kind, caring individuals, and they give professional care. The shot feels like a momentary tiny pinch; not a big deal. The receptionist is professional and courteous, very helpful, and always has a smile for the patients. I have rarely had to wait more than 10 minutes to be given my allergy shot when I had an appointment. (If you do the walk-in appointment, the wait could be longer if there are a lot of people ahead of you). Once you are given your injection, you wait in the waiting room for 30 minutes, and then are checked for a reaction to the injection. I always take something with me to read, and the time always goes by fast. I would definitely recommend this office to an allergy sufferer.
